Inspired by the ardent music scene in Montreal, Grand Lark began with two half-brothers collaborating in an effort to make up for lost time and reconnect the family. A close band of friends quickly formed around this little reunion and they started working on original material that focused on dynamic songwriting with surprising tempo shifts, blending acoustic and electronic instruments while singing simple yet poetic lyrics that inspire a sense of mystery, awe, and humour in our lives and experiences.
Grand Lark independently released their EP Afterglow in 2014, a short collection of acoustic tracks from their early sessions. Following their release, the band performed at festivals such as NXNE, POP Montreal, FAST, and CMW, and opened for numerous great indie bands like Little Tybee, Ages&Ages, and Frontier Ruckus. Their newest single, Hysteria's Fool, was released in 2015 and shows a more electric sound and pop sensibility from the band. They are currently writing new material and recording.
